Judicial protest over road near fireworks factory

St Michael's Fireworks Factory of Lija has filed a judicial protect against MEPA and the developers of a private road, arguing that the building of the road is irregular.

The building of the road started earlier this week with the workers being granted police protection after having earlier been stopped by fireworks enthusiasts. They say that the road cannot be built within the buffer zone around the fireworks factory. The developer, however, insists he has a MEPA permit issued in 2005.
